On this private visit to the charming city of Guimarães you will have the opportunity to admire a fascinating medieval complex that maintains its structure and architectural design very faithful to the time. The historic center is distinguished by UNESCO (2001) as a world heritage site, the result of exemplary restoration work that began in the 1980s, and which continues to this day with an admirable sense of unity and preservation between people and territory. There are several must-see/visit monuments, however just wandering through the narrow streets and small squares as well as contemplating the beautiful facades full of history takes us back to the past without the need for a time machine. We will dedicate a good part of our visit here.
Other unmissable attractions are the castle (originally from the 10th century) which contains a lot of history and perseverance, the Paço dos Duques de Bragança (15th century, considered the jewel of the city, or the Penha mountain with its forest cover and stunning views We will touch all these points without forgetting the most unprotected area, inhabited by peasants and workers of other times (Leather Area), as well as a small taste of the city's typical convent sweets.
